Advanced technology is sowing the seeds, often literally, for the future of farming. Automated and AI-powered tools can plant seeds, assess crop health and pick the finished product from the field — or greenhouse.
But technology alone won’t save farmers. They also need to rethink and reinvent their business models.
This edition of the YCEA podcast, produced in partnership with biznewsPA, delves into how farms and agribusinesses in York County are adapting.
It features Julie Flinchbaugh, a co-owner Flinchbaugh’s Orchards, a fourth-generation farm business; Taylor Groff, owner of GroffJulius, a contractor that specializes in agriculture; and Bruce Miller, a York County farmer and former ag lender in southcentral Pennsylvania.
