Earthcare Solutions in Mechanicsburg has made two new hires.

The firm named Christopher Roelke as director of operations and product development, and it named Daniel Kusky as director of construction services.

Earthcare provides sustainable waste management solutions specializing in biosolids, residual wastes and organics management through carbonization and biochar production.

Roelke will consult with the company’s clients in the design and engineering phase of facility development and oversee the startup and commissioning phase of facility operations, including environmental and safety compliance. Roelke will also oversee daily operations at Earthcare’s facility in Bethel.

Roelke is a graduate of Penns State Capital College with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a master’s degree in environmental engineering. He has more than 20 years of experience in facility operations.

Kusky, who has a background in project management background, will oversee the estimating, budgeting, procurement, construction, and installation of Earthcare’s carbonization facilities under development throughout the U.S. The facilities will process an array of organic feedstock, including biosolids, poultry litter, equine waste, sugarcane bagasse and food residuals.

Kusky graduated from Cornell University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. He was previously a project manager/estimator with W.M. Schultz Construction in Ballston Spa, New York.
