Nexterus

Sam Polakoff is retiring from his role as CEO of Nexterus, a family-owned supply chain management and logistics services company based in New Freedom. Polakoff, the company’s third-generation owner, plans to retire at the end of this year, though he will continue to serve as its chairman.

Polakoff joined Nexterus in 1975 and succeeded his father as CEO in 1999.

During his tenure, the company expanded its technology offerings, which help clients manage their supply chains. Polakoff also oversaw the company’s branding as Nexterus — it had been known as TBB Global Logistics — and its move to New Freedom — it had been based near Baltimore.

Polakoff is being succeeded by his son, Ryan, who is also the company’s president. Ryan Polakoff began working for Nexterus in 2003.

The company caters primarily to small and medium-sized companies.
