Accenture, a major state contractor, opens Harrisburg office

Accenture, which has landed some big-ticket state contracts, has opened an office in downtown Harrisburg at 20 N. Second St.

The international professional services firm is leasing about 3,100 square feet on two floors of the building, which is also home to lobbying and communications firm Bravo Group.

Accenture, which also has an office in Philadelphia, is referring to the Harrisburg space as its Keystone Innovation and Talent Hub.

The firm will use the space to offer a paid apprenticeship program and meet with clients, according to David Davis, a managing director and Pennsylvania public service lead for Accenture.

Davis declined to share how many people will work there, describing the office as a “another home” for Accenture’s Pennsylvania staff.

“What you are going to see here is a place for our talent to come together with clients,” Davis said. “This will be a space for us to co-create together with clients and a destination for us to showcase new breakthrough technologies, including cyber and AI.”

Accenture’s apprenticeship program offers 12 months of “earn-and-learn” training designed to lead to a full-time position at the firm, which employs more than 730,000 people worldwide. The program does not require a four-year degree.

The clients: Over the years, Accenture has landed millions of dollars in state contracts with the Department of General Services, the Department of Human Services, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency, according to an online database of state contractors.

In May, the firm signed a nearly $10 million contract to assist the Pennsylvania General Assembly in adopting a cloud system for transforming business processes, according to the database.
