Podcast: Logistics

Supply chains used to be something of an afterthought for most companies. They would fix it and forget it.

But over the last couple of years, supply chains have emerged as a critical element of business strategy, in part because they have been so hard to get right.

In this episode of the York County Economic Alliance podcast produced in partnership with biznewsPA, four experts in logistics talk about the lessons learned post-pandemic, the current challenges for supply chains and what to expect going forward.

The experts — who also spoke at an August meeting of the YCEA Economics Club — are Mike Pritchard, chief of transportation planning for the York County Planning Commission and the York Area Metropolitan Planning Organization; Joe Garner, director of operations at JLS Automation in Springettsbury Township, York County; Ryan Polakoff, president of Nexterus Inc. in New Freedom; and Dr. Mohammed Raja, associate professor of supply chain operations and department chair for Operations and Information Technology at the Graham School of Business, York College of Pennsylvania.

The next meeting of the Economics Club is slated for Oct. 25 at the Wyndham Garden York. The topic is recent innovations in technology around York County.
