Phoenix Contact USA, based in Middletown, restructured its leadership team as of Sept. 1. The changes are in preparation for the Dec. 31 retirement of President Jack Nehlig after 23 years with the company.

Heath Scoggin has been promoted to president of device connectors for the business area and will lead Phoenix Contact development and manufacturing, process management and quality.

Kevin Zak has been promoted to president of industrial components and electronics for the business area and will lead Phoenix Contact’s U.S. sales, logistics, government relations, and environmental, social and governance efforts.

Davis Mathews has been promoted to president of the industry management and automation for the business area and will lead human relations, digitalization, IT, purchasing and facilities.

Kyle Bordner was promoted to vice president of finance and risk management, replacing David Russo, who retired in May.

Scoggin, Zak, Mathews, and Bordner have been named members of both the Phoenix Contact USA executive board and the management board. The management board will also include Marian Roldan, senior vice president of human relations, and Doug Ferguson, senior vice president of Americas Operations Services.

Phoenix Contact, which is based in Germany, creates “products to connect, distribute, and control power and data flows” found in industrial settings, with a strong focus on the energy, infrastructure, process, factory automation, and e-mobility markets, according to the company.

Its global network includes 22,000 employees in more than 100 countries.

Phoenix Contact USA employs more than 1,100 people across the U.S.
