A Harrisburg lobbying firm has formed a business affiliation with a Philadelphia-area law firm.
- Under the arrangement, lobbying shop The DT Firm and law firm Lamb McErlane will refer clients to each other, said Joel Frank, chairman and managing partner of Lamb McErlane.
- While many law firms have created in-house lobbying divisions over the last few years, Lamb McErlane has no plans to do so, Frank said.
- The arrangement with DT simply gives the law firm an option for clients who need lobbying services, said Frank. He described the affiliation as a formal mutual referral network.
- “To the extent that DT Firm’s clients need legal services, we’ll be the go-to firm for that,” he said, adding that Lamb McErlane regularly practices in the state capital.
The background: Founded in 1971, Lamb McErlane has offices in Exton, Newtown Square, Oxford, Philadelphia, West Chester and Mount Laurel, New Jersey.
- Co-founder Bill Lamb served a one-year term as a Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice in the mid-2000s.
- DT is headed by Dave Thomas, who worked as chief counsel to the Speaker of the Pennsylvania House from 2010 to 2014 and to the Senate Majority Leader from 2014 to 2016.
- “We are excited to partner with the team at Lamb McErlane, to provide our clients access to many of the best lawyers in the commonwealth,” Thomas said in a statement yesterday.
