Ecore International, a Lancaster-based company that makes flooring from recycled rubber, has purchased a Cumberland County company that collects and refurbishes old tires.
- The company, Newville-based Ameritread, fits in with Ecore’s goal of reusing and repurposing rubber products but also produces scrap that Ecore can incorporate into its own products.
- Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
- Ameritread, which does business as Truck Stop Supply Company LLC, has 17 employees.
- It will continue to operate under its own name, according to an Ecore spokesperson.
- The acquisition is the second this year for Ecore, which now employs more than 500 people.
- In April, the company bought 360 Tire Recycling Group, a company that manages tire recycling, primarily for the trucking industry.
The background: Tracing its roots to the 19th century, Ecore makes flooring for a variety of markets, including hospitality, health care, fitness and manufacturing.
- The recent acquisitions are diversifying its revenue while delivering new sources of scrap tires.
- The company, formerly known as Dodge-Regupol, is led by CEO Art Dodge.
