Commonwealth Foundation

Andrew Lewis, a former state representative and business owner, has been named president and CEO of the Commonwealth Foundation, a conservative think tank in Harrisburg. He succeeds Charles Mitchell, who has led the organization since 2016.

Lewis, a Republican, represented portions of Dauphin and Lebanon counties from 2018 to 2022 before deciding not to run again.

An Army veteran, he worked most recently as a general manager for homebuilder Berks Homes and was co-founder of a home-improvement business called BiiLT Contracting Group in Lower Paxton Township, Dauphin County.

“Andrew brings a wealth of experience in public policy, business and distinguished military service that will be invaluable as Pennsylvania’s leading policy advocate for education choice, energy freedom and a broad array of policy solutions that allow all Pennsylvanians to flourish,” Commonwealth board chair George Coates said in a statement.
