TEAMology, an education technology startup based in Chambersburg, has hired Gretchen Thompson as its first-ever chief revenue officer, where she will lead sales, business development, strategic partnerships and marketing initiatives.
- Thompson has held sales, marketing and leadership positions for a number of education-related startups, including ClassLink, Qwizdom and Vizzle.
- She worked most recently for Baltimore-based Allovue, which developed finance software for schools.
- PowerSchool, a publicly traded edtech firm, bought Allovue in January for about $42 million in cash, according to SEC filings.
- “We are thrilled to have Gretchen join our team as CRO to significantly expand our growth and elevate our mission to provide mental health access to all children at a time when they so desperately need it,” TEAMology founder and CEO Linsey Covert said in a statement.
The background: Founded in 2016, TEAMology has developed a tech-based curriculum designed to support mental and emotional wellness in students.
- TEAMology’s investors include State College-based Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Central and Northern Pennsylvania and York-based White Rose Ventures.
- In addition to hiring a revenue chief, TEAMology is moving to State College effective April 1, according to Lindsay Fairman, the company’s chief operating and technology officer.
- Covert is a Penn State graduate and laid the foundation for the company while studying there for a master’s degree in education.
- TEAMology employs 17 people, Fairman said.
