Podcast: A midterm forecast

Pennsylvania is home to two of the most closely watched elections in the U.S.

One, for a U.S. Senate seat, pits Lieutenant Gov. John Fetterman, a Democrat, against Dr. Mehmet Oz, a Republican. They are running to replace Sen. Pat Toomey, a Republican who is retiring.

The other is the race for governor, which features Republican state Sen. Doug Mastriano and Democrat Josh Shapiro, the state’s attorney general. Current Gov. Tom Wolf is term-limited from running again.

Noted political analyst G. Terry Madonna offers his take on the election, scheduled for Nov. 7, in the October edition of the YCEA podcast, produced in partnership with biznewsPA. Click here for the podcast.

Madonna, senior fellow in residence for political affairs at Millersville University and director emeritus of the Franklin & Marshall Poll, spoke Sept. 28 at an event held by the Economics Club of the York County Economic Alliance.

The next meeting of the YCEA Economics Club is scheduled for Nov. 16 at the Wyndham Garden York. Pedro Rivera, president of Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology and a former state education secretary, will discuss workforce issues, with a focus on equity in education and skill-building programs. More information is available here.
