Northern Central Railway of York

Jennifer Krieg has been named superintendent operations manager for Northern Central Railway of York, a nonprofit tourist organization in southern York County.

Krieg will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the organization’s 1860s-replica steam locomotive, authentic Pennsylvania Railroad 1959 diesel engine, new GE 80-ton diesel locomotive and eight passenger cars.

Krieg joined Northern Central Railway as a fireman on the organization’s 1860s-replica steam engine, known as the William H. Simpson No. 17. As her role evolved, she served as an engineer on the steam engine and on a GP-9 diesel engine.

“I am excited to step into this new role and leverage my expertise and industry experience to help Northern Central Railway of York keep their beloved trains and passenger cars in strong, working order,” Krieg said in a statement.
